Planning for the next school year provides an important time to reflect and revise not only our curriculum, but also our practices, routines and our classroom spaces. In computer science, aligning each of these areas with a goal of creating welcoming and inclusive spaces for all students is essential.
One resource that I have found to be especially helpful when reflecting on and implementing action steps for creating welcoming and inclusive spaces in order to broaden participation in CS is the NCWIT (National Center for Women in Information Technology) Engagement Practices Framework.
