While teaching CSA this year for this first time, I've noticed that I really have to teach students how to debug. A lot of students come to my class with experience. They've learned how to debug in Code.org or for Python using other systems... but then they get confused again and end up asking for a lot of help with NetBeans (our IDE). I recently found this video by Prof. Derrf Seitz to be a helpful introduction to a lot of common bugs students will have when coding Java in NetBeans. Maybe I'll create my own buggy code for them to practice with too.
