Attention Students and Educators: NCWIT AiC Award Applications Are Open NOW!

What are the (AiC) Award Recognitions?

Each year, the National Center for Women and Information Technology (NCWIT) Aspirations in Computing (AiC) offers three awards to honor students who self-identify as female, non-binary, or genderqueer and their educators for their aspirations, accomplishments, and influence within the field. Details about each award are below and don’t forget to spread the word to teachers and students in your community!

NCWIT Collegiate Award

This award honors college students whose technical contribution to projects demonstrates a high level of creativity and potential impact. Open to undergraduate and graduate students, recipients of the NCWIT Collegiate Award win up to $10K in cash prizes.

Apply by October 15


Award for Aspirations in Computing

This award honors technical students in grades 9-12. Recipients of the NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computing receive access to a community of more than 16,000 technical womxn and exclusive opportunities.

Aspirations in Computing (AiC) Educator Award

This award is open to all educators w
ho play a pivotal role in encouraging ninth-12th grade students to explore their interests in computing and technology. Recipients of the NCWIT Aspirations in Computing Educator Award receive recognition at an award event, increased visibility in their school district and community, NCWIT resources and promotional items, engraved awards, and more.

Two-step application timeline:

  1. By November 5: Educators must encourage a student to apply for the Award for Aspirations in Computing and endorse their application.
  2. By December 7: Applications for the Educator Award should be submitted. (
